About
Gideros is a small cove west of the centre of Cide, set into the coast between two headlands. That enclosed shape shelters it from the Black Sea swell, so the water here stays clear and calm on most days while the open sea does not.
The bay is a designated natural protected area and there is no entrance fee. The contrast between the wooded slopes and the colour of the water makes it the most photographed spot around Cide.
The road down to the bay leaves the D010 coast road and is a winding one. That stretch of the coast road sees periodic landslide repairs, so it is worth confirming it is open before you set out.
